BSc Hons in Information Technology & Management

Technology leadership built on consumer insight and business strategy

Overview

The BSc Hons in Information Technology & Management pairs the same rigorous IT core taught across the Faculty with the interdisciplinary business, consumer and communication knowledge developed by the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, producing graduates who understand technology, markets and people with equal rigour.

The programme is structured around two pillars. Consumer Solutions covers consumer-centred design, the cognitive psychology of consumer decisions, marketing and product management, and business architecture modelling, equipping students to understand user needs and market behaviour, not just system requirements. Business Strategy covers strategic management, financial analysis, risk and portfolio management, and business change and process management, the analytical and decision-making skills technology-driven organisations need from their people.

Deliberate emphasis is placed on language and communication skills throughout, so graduates can present, negotiate and lead with confidence, while project-based work connected directly to the IT industry builds the teamwork, leadership and time-management skills that technical training alone does not teach.
